The Hamilton North Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Committee would like to announce the winner of the 4th Quarter 2011 Bell of Recognition:

Cheryl Schulz, Alexander's on the Water

Cheryl Schulz is the owner of Alexander's on the Water in Cicero and Alexander's on the Square (Noblesville).  The ice cream and sandwich restaurant has been in business for 17 years at the Noblesville location and 15 years at the Cicero location.  The Cicero store serves local residents as well as visitors from Morse Reservoir as they are located near the public docks.  In addition to the two restaurants, Alexander's does a steady business of catering events from chamber luncheons to weddings.

Cheryl likes doing business in small towns and is particularly proud of Alexander's employment of local residents.  She points out that most of their employees stay with them for a long time.  Cheryl has two children in the Hamilton Heights School system and recently served on the Hamilton Heights Primary School Academic Accreditation Committee.  In addition, she served on the Noblesville Main Street Board for six years and was President for two of those years.

Congratulations, Cheryl!

1st Quarter 2012 Bell of Recognition Nominees have also been annouced by the Ambassador Committee:

Beck's Hybrids

Beck's Hybrids was started in the same Atlanta location that now serves as their headquarters.  Scott Beck says, "My great grandfather and grandfather started Beck's 75 years ago, following the principle of providing our customers with the best in seed quality, field performance and service. "

Helping others is a passion for the Beck family and family of employees.  Their involvement and support is evident throughout our community.  Recently, they unveiled two 75th Anniversary custom built Orange County Choppers (OCC) motorcycles.  Farmers and bike enthusiasts across the Midwest will have the chance to win a custom OCC chopper in the We Care for Orphans Adoption Fund Sweepstakes.  There are 143 million orphan children worldwide.  The We Care for Orphans Adoption Fund helps unite children with loving families.  The average cost to adopt is around \$30,000 and it is Beck's Hybrids desire to help provide families with the resources they need to make their adoption a reality.

Edward Jones, Corey Sylvester

Corey Sylvester is a Financial Advisor for Edward Jones Investments in Cicero.  He focuses on Retirement Planning, Education Planning and Tax Saving Solutions.

Corey is an active leader in the community.  His spirit of volunteerism is evident in many great initiatives, including:  supporting a school supplies donation campaign for Hamilton Heights schools, offering free business seminars at the Hamilton North Public Library; sponsoring a water bottle station at the Cicero Triathlon.  He is a Group Leader with Hamlton North Young Professionals.  Corey also serves on the HNCC Executive Board.  Corey's office is located on West Jackson Street in downtown Cicero, with a very professional business presence on the main corridor.

Alice's Restaurant, Alice O'Brien

Alice's Restaurant is a full service restaurant located in downtown Arcadia.

Alice's provides a casual, full-service dining experience with home-style meals including "the best tenderloin in Hamilton County".  Alice O'Brien, owner and chef, is nearly always at the restaurant managing the kitchen, wait staff and personally ensuring a good dining experience for her customers.  Alice is active in the Arcadia Community Together (ACT) and Arcadia Arts Initiative often combining forces with local businesses to provide a fun experience for visitors.  Alice's Restaurant hosted the Chamber Annual Dinner in May.

The HNCC Ambassador Committee encourages all Chamber members to submit a vote for one of these nominees by return email or by ballot at an upcoming chamber luncheon.  The criteria for the Bell of Recognition includes:  Volunteerism, Community Involvement, Business Appearance, Customer Service, Enhancing Membership.
