Carmel to Participate in Bike to Work Day Friday, May 18th

This month, the City of Carmel is celebrating National Bike Month and Friday, May 18th has been designated National Bike to Work Day. Carmel residents are encouraged to use the Carmel Access Bikeway and the many multi-use paths that make up part of Carmel’s alternative transportation network as they bicycle to work or to park their vehicles at the Monon Community Center and ride to work from there.  The Monon Community Center’s parking lot will be available for bike to work riders to park their cars while they ride to and from work on the 18th.

Memorial Day Weekend to Celebrate Legacy of Nation’s Veterans

Conner Prairie Interactive History Park, Indiana’s only Smithsonian affiliate, will celebrate the legacy of our nation’s veterans this Memorial Day weekend with free admission to active military personnel and their families. The park will be open all weekend, including Monday, May 28, and offer special activities for the whole family.

Indy Backpack Attack Announces Kickoff Event Monday, June 25, 2012 at the Children's Museum

Indy BackPack Attack is hosting its annual kickoff event at the Children’s Museum, 3000 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN 46208, on Monday, June 25, 2012 from 7:30 am to 2 pm.  During this event, participating organizations and businesses can pick up their school supply bins and posters to set up at their locations for the 2012 School Supply Drive running through July 20, 2012 and Captains will receive their free Indy BackPack Attack t-shirt.

Bike to School Day 2012

This month, the City of Carmel is celebrating National Bike Month and Wednesday, May 9th has been designated National Bike to School Day.  Orchard Park Elementary and Prairie Trace Elementary in Carmel are encouraging students to bike to school on the morning of May 9th.  Orchard Park Elementary will have students join a bike ride from the Monon Community Center to the school lead by the Carmel Police Department.  Prairie Trace Elementary is encouraging all of their walkers and cyclists to ride into school on the 9th.

The Stratford, a Carmel, Ind.-based retirement community, announced today that the community’s wellness program has won the Assisted Living Federation of America’s (ALFA) 2012 ‘Best of the Best’ Award in the category of Clinical Wellness.
The community’s “purpose-based wellness programming” took home top honors in one of the most competitive categories, Clinical Wellness. Eventz Plus Moves to New, Larger Location and New Ownership

On May 1st, Carmel-based EventzPlus (“EP”) will move and will also soon be under new ownership. EP had simply grown out of it’s current space and the owners were frustrated by having to turn away business. Local entrepreneur, Frank Howard of L5 Solutions and Indy CoZ, will purchase the business and move it to his larger facility in the Castleton, IN area. Howard is working with current EventzPlus owners to make a smooth transition to its new space.
